Problem
The client, a group of local charter schools, aimed to increase enrollment among young families. Each of the seven organizations under the coalition operated under different names, logos, and branding colors, leading to a fragmented image that made it difficult for families to recognize and associate them as a single entity.
While the marketing team handled social media and content creation, I designed and developed a website to serve as the coalition’s digital centerpiece. The misconceptions and limited awareness of charter schools’ benefits were a significant challenge. Engagement and enrollment were additional pain points.
Without a streamlined, attractive, and informative platform, the coalition struggled to capture and retain the interest of prospective students and their families. The absence of a user-friendly website made it challenging to guide visitors toward taking actionable steps, such as learning more about the schools or enrolling in their programs.
Lastly, there was a need for Spanish translation, ensuring that all families could access and understand the information provided.
Solution
User engagement and enrollment were prioritized by implementing an organization section with pop-up links to each school’s website. This feature allowed parents to explore individual schools easily and learn more about their specific offerings.
A connect form invited users to express their interest in learning more about enrollment and events at the various schools, facilitating personalized communication and fostering stronger connections with prospective families. To support future marketing initiatives, form submissions were set up to be collected for future use with a HubSpot account.
To cater to the diverse local community, the website prominently displayed a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and included a Spanish translation feature for all content. Informational sections highlighted key aspects of charter schools and the coalition’s unique programs. The website included an interactive Frequently Asked Questions section with straightforward animations that enhanced user engagement and clarity.
I then built a blog template for the client’s news posts within a content management system to ensure a clean, consistent look for all future posts, streamlining the process for the coalition’s content creators.
The website featured a youthful aesthetic, with vibrant imagery of engaged classrooms showcased in carousel sections—this design choice aimed to capture the attention of young families and convey the energetic, dynamic environment.
